Position:  Inside Scientific Sales Executive

Position Summary: The primary responsibilities will be to find, develop, and grow new business accounts in the Company’s R&D Division, with an emphasis on the personal care and derm/pharma markets. The position includes inside sales, marketing and outside sales work.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a pro-active, contributing member of the Company team
  • Achieve/exceed sales targets by maintaining existing level of sales, growing existing accounts, developing new accounts and exceeding weekly Key Performance Indicators
  • Analyze accounts, competition and product mix; Identify areas for likely sales growth and execute plan to achieve it
  • Learn and understand the technical details of products and services in order to communicate advantages to existing and potential new customers
  • Identify and engage with potential new customers through cold calls, emails and networking
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers through sound scientific expertise and business acumen
  • Provide timely communication and follow-up to customers; consistently meets the customer’s expectations; effectively explore and define customer requirements and expectations in a prompt and professional manner
  • Prepare written customer proposals and closely monitor revenue opportunities to completion
  • Coordinate with laboratory staff to provide comprehensive professional support to potential and existing customers; including, updates on project progress through completion
  • Rigorously document communications and keep salesforce.com, the company management (CRM) database, up to date to ensure full transparency of customer information
  • Assist with the development and distribution of marketing media (e-mail blasts, newsletters, news releases, website, client abstracts, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain a list of potential trade organizations for company presentation
  • Develop and present scientific presentations for sales calls and scientific meetings
  • Attend meetings, conventions and trade shows to promote Genemarkers’ services
  • Communicate with management to provide updates on pertinent market information and revenue forecasts

The Inside Sales Executive will target:

  • Companies that develop topical products, raw materials suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Skin care companies, with focus on those that sell mid to high end topical products
  • Pharma/biotech companies that develop topical products
  • CBD companies, topical products and raw materials
  • Cosmetic ingredient suppliers
  • Current/former customers

Qualifications:

  • Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • Preferred is to have contacts in the skin care, cosmetics and dermatology companies
  • 1-3+ years of sales and/or marketing experience in a scientific setting
  • Proven track record of exceeding monthly and quarterly sales goals
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding sales skills such as cold calling, leadership, communication, collaboration, product knowledge, passion, relationship building and management and territory management skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Proactive individual with proven ability to think strategically and problem solve
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent phone skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com
